Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus about 1 lb, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika optional, for extra flavor
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat

For Garnish (Optional):

  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan or nutritional yeast for a dairy-free option
  • ½ lemon cut into wedges
  • Extra virgin olive oil drizzle

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Asparagus

  • Trim the ends of the asparagus by snapping or cutting off the woody parts.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Step 2: Air-Fry the Asparagus

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2-3 minutes.
  • Arrange the asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed).
  • Air fry for 7-9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the asparagus is tender with crispy edges.

Step 3: Serve & Enjoy!

  • Transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle with grated Parmesan or nutritional yeast.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the asparagus for added brightness.
  • Serve immediately as a side dish or healthy snack!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2-3 minutes.
  • Make it Vegan: Skip the Parmesan and use nutritional yeast for a cheesy, dairy-free alternative.
  • Extra Crispy Option: Toss the asparagus in panko breadcrumbs before air-frying for a crunchy coating.
