Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe yet firm bananas thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract optional, for extra flavor
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup optional, for added sweetness

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Extra coconut flakes
  • A light sprinkle of sea salt
  • Drizzle of dark chocolate

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bananas

  • Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds (about ⅛-inch thick).
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the banana slices with melted coconut oil, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (if using).

Step 2: Coat with Coconut

  • Gently toss the banana slices with shredded coconut, ensuring a light, even coating.

Step 3: Air-Fry the Banana Chips

  • Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 2 minutes.
  • Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (do not overlap).
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they become golden and crisp.

Step 4: Cool & Serve

  • Remove from the air fryer and let the chips cool for 5 minutes (they will continue to crisp up).
  • Serve immediately or store for later!

Notes

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Extra Crispy Tip: Use slightly underripe bananas for firmer chips.
  • Sweeter Option: Sprinkle with a touch of coconut sugar before air frying.
